Hays Travel Homeworking Jobs

Some weekends and late night finishes will be involved.

As part of the Hays Independence Group we have fantastic commercial terms with all leading tour operators, bedbanks and airlines as well the in-house tour operation and access to great technology.

We have vacancies in our modern offices in Team Valley, Gateshead for part time and full time telesales travel agents.

We are looking for a good team player who is highly motivated and have immediate starts available with competitive salary.

We provide calls from our various advertising online as well as our own websites and pay up to 30% commission on these leads, we also pay generous commission of up to 50% on your own client base and repeat customers.

However once you have got the experience, I would recommend applying for alternative travel companies.Learn more, including about available controls: Cookie Policy.Cons Customer service backup not always reliable, systems sometimes not in place to ensure customers paperwork is looked after, sometimes causes embarrassing situations. The management at Hays Travel would always go out of their own way to make sure you are enjoying your experience within the company and if you were to have any queries they were there to help out.The most enjoyable part of the job was the staff and getting to meet new customers and being able to to find the customers dream holiday.I have heard from friends in other branches that it is different being in another shop. Targets mostly unrealistic and had to hit 10% over yearly target to even qualify for a bonus.I couldn’t handle all the bullying, toxic ness and nobody from higher management seem to care. Blaming staff for branches performances when it's a difficult time out there. Changing bonus structure half way through a financial year. A lot of the management were self centred, very out of touch with their staff and unprincipled.Hated my time here at Hays Travel, I worked at the Metro Centre branch so cannot comment on any other branches. The amount of staff leaving the branch is ridiculous, higher management don’t ask enough questions and assume that it’s because of the hours of shifts, which it’s not.Thing is the assistant manager gets on with head office and RSM very well and made that very vocal which scared many people into saying anything as it wouldn’t be believed, the saying “if your face fits” is exactly what it is here! They hate apprentices, they offer no help or support and just leave them on the back desk. The pay is ridiculous, for the amount of targets, sales and long hours you have to do, and you get little for it. Cold calling customers to get them to buy currency from them.No recognition from head office or there RSMs, we only get criticised. Rude staff that cause issues but they get special treatment because they are friends with management. Pay minimum wage , one regional manager looking after over 30 shops ridiculous , the staff turnover is ridiculous due to low pay they employ anyone as they have constant staffing issues , they expect you to work through dinners with the promise of time back in quieter months but forbid you to write your time owed down, the pressure to hit targets is stressful , up to 12 targets to hit therefore compromising giving the customer the best deal , most targets are unreachable and all branches struggled to hit alot of them consistently , been in travel many years I've never ever worked for such a poor company with so much lack of disregard for its staff and their well being that said I cannot comment on the other part of hays travel that's not classed as the northwest as they seem to be getting it right and ran by a totally different department Absolutely no progression in Foreign Exchange and really unfair bonus system. Definitely made to feel far less important and inferior compared to the travel staff.
